15 years ago tonight I'd have my finger on record.

Thursday night was the best night of the week. Depending on your radio, you'd either wait till 1 am to press record or you had the shit on timer. Plus you had to fuck with the antenna to make sure static was minimal. Half the time the reggae show overlapped, so you'd be better off waiting and not waste any valuable tape space. Things were different back then. No MP3s, no internet to get the latest- this was some real analog dinosaur shit. But it was always worth it even being tired as fuck. Nothing beat popping that tape in Friday morning and hearing the newest treats on la gua gua. That was the BX 10 for me. I rarely got anything past 3:30. My tape ran out and I had to rely on other little hip hop fiends to bless me with the rest, usually crunch time with Sear abusing callers.

Got the best of 1993 from 12/30/93- a full front and back.

This was the shit. How bout having to wake up 45 or 60 mins after side A stopped recording to manually switch sides?!?! The noise often woke me up.

Those shirts were much better than the newer ones.

Undeniably the best hip-hop radio show, during the best era of hip-hop. This shit was a culture unto itself. Better than that was to let that shit ride while you slept, intermittently waking up to catch an ill beat and then not being able to fall back asleep - doing the zombie next day in school. Wow - listening to this as I write. Thanks once again for the hit off that nostalgia stem.
