The 8th Letter Will Be Repping the 18th Letter This Evening at Knitting Factory.

A super last minute reminder that Rakim the G-d MC will be performing the final hip hop show at Knitting Factory NYC tonight. Knitting Factory will be closing its doors at the end of the year and will reopen in Williamsburg in March of 2009. Fuck me. Ugh. Make sure you get out there, snow and all, to see some real rap shit. Hopefully he doesn't pull that quick set shit like last time.

Black Thought- sans the Roots, Keith Murray and Just Ice are also on the bill with vinyl only DJ sets from Dante Ross, Psycho Les, JS 1, Chairman Mao and more.

Tix are $30, $35 at the door (if available). Peanuts. To see Rakim in such a small venue will be a treat. Don't hate yourself tomorrow for missing this one.

For more info click HERE. Tickets appear to still be available.

I hope that "small venue" has enough room to accomodate the Sweetheart Rib plate, icebox cake, and Tim Tam's in your bread basket. If not, there'll be plenty of room next to me and D at Black Mama's around the corner.

Don't forget the gallons of microbrews.

This dude is up on Harlem spots I never even heard of. Do tell.

Just a shot in the dark (pun intented). I can also guess that there's a MLK Blvd. not too far away. Am I right??

Substitute Brand Nubian for Keith Murray please, we got the better end of that deal, with or without Puba. They still should've done Allah U Akbar.

And I said I had but all given up on hip-hop shows, but Rakim reeled me back in for this one and I'm glad. Always a late night with these but well worth it to see him do pretty much all his classics.

Buck, nowhere near enough room for the ribs, links and whatever else you threw down, but it didn't stop How from getting his grind on - in every way possible.

Mikev what's the deal? Aussie chips are the move.

I know there is a Sharon Jones/Menahan Street Band show at Nokia on 2/13 and 2/14. There's a Golden Age of Hip Hop Part 1 show on 2/7 at Fillmore NY Irving Plaza featuring Doug E. Fresh, Lord Finesse, Chubb Rock, Brand Nubian, Pos K. LL 2/19 @ Nokia.

That's all I know for now. Since Knitting Factory closed/is moving there are less shows- they had a lot of hiphop. More stuff might pop up.

Now bring those chips.

I haven't heard anything re a DITC show. They performed maybe a month ago at Knitting Factory so I doubt it. I just saw that at the end of January- the 22nd- Joe Budden and the Slaughterhouse will be at SOBs.

There's some hiphop karaoke at Southpaw in BK on 2/20.

I don't know what's worse- 100 or high 20s and snow. Pick your poison.

oh shit, haha i haven't hit up hip hop karaoke since 2006 in london. that's always a good laugh.

ill go with the snow and high 20.
